Last night, December 18, 2008, our group reconvened after a long pause. Amanda, our founder, moved to Connecticut during the summer, and it was hard to get going without her. Susan's birthday provided an occasion and we met at our beloved Jade restaurant. What a refreshment to get together again to share our stories and provide encouragement to each other. At the end of the meeting one of us suggested starting a blog that all of us could post to. So here it is! I look forward to continuing our sharing online and to hopefully plan for our next meeting. This will be a place to nurture our creativity and our love for each other.
By the way, my calendar popped up with a reminder that Amanda's birthday is tomorrow - so, Happy Birthday, Amanda. Thank you so much for your effort in coming back to Riverdale.
Blessing on all of us today!
Love,
Buffy

I had a bit of a problem trying to figure out how to post an entry, but finally got there.
ReplyDeleteI need to say, again and again, how wonderful and supportive this group has been and continues to be for me. My birthday celebration was a surprise and more meaningful than any words could say.
Thank you for that special night,
It helped my brain to set things right.
I'll treasure all the moments, then,
Relive them in my mind again.
And again, and again, and again.
Amanda, now, your day is here,
Your birthday for us all--is dear.
And though we're not at dinner, true,
Our spirits celebrate with you.
In our hearts, our minds, and souls.
I had a dream before I woke up which I remembered. Interpreting the full dream made me realize that you and the dinner we shared has become part of my soul.
Here is part of the dream:
I had to get protection(it had something to do with oppressive bullies)-- so I ran to a church /synogague(sp?) and sought out the pastor/rabbi.The spiritual leader seemed to represent both. (Symbolic of the various religions we follow-). He led me out to a garden. He was busy trying to plan a program to feed the poor. He said that I could take a flower. I could either choose white lillies or lilacs. I wanted the lilacs.
The symbolism:
the bullies--the harsh realities
of the world; those people who ignore me-
the pastor/rabbi-spiritual leader- representing all of you
Feeding the poor-- represents starving souls who are being fed--nourishing the soul
the lillies-flowers at funerals
lilacs- flowers of sweet smell and lovely color
(my favorite flower). I chose the lilacs-life
enhancing-- and you offered that to me.
This group means the world to me.
What a beautiful dream, Susan. Your creative mind never ceases to amaze me. And how honored I feel that we all can be a part of it.
